Ecological Rosary

Introduction.

All: By the sign of the Holy Cross, deliver us from our enemies, O Lord our God.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Leader: Open my lips, Lord…

All: And my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

All: My Lord, Jesus Christ, true God and true man, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, I firmly  resolve never to sin again, to turn away from all occasions of sin, to go to confession and to do penance. I offer You, Lord, my life, works and labors in satisfaction for all my sins. Amen.

Guide: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.

R: And kindle in them the fire of your love.

Leader: Send forth your Creator Spirit.

R: And renew the face of the earth.

Guide: O God, you have enlightened the hearts of your children with the light of the Holy Spirit; make us docile to his inspirations so that we may always taste good and enjoy his consolation. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Intentions.

We offer this rosary to ask the intercession of our Mother Mary of Guadalupe for the welfare of our common home, for the elements that are part of life and for all living beings that inhabit the planet.

First mystery prayer: fire.

Praised be you, my Lord, for brother fire, by which you light up the night: and he is beautiful, and joyful, and robust, and strong. We ask you, Virgin Mary, to intercede before your Son, our Lord, so that you may give wisdom to those who handle this element, which, just as it illuminates the exterior, may the fire of the Holy Spirit illuminate our interior and give shelter and protection to those who suffer because of forest fires, we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Second mystery prayer: water.

Praised be you, my Lord, for sister water, which is very useful, and humble, and precious, and chaste. Blessed Virgin Mary, we implore your intercession so that every human being may have the conscience to make good use of this vital element, for without it, nature would cease to exist. May rivers of living water flow from our hearts so that we may know how to discern our actions and preserve the natural resources of our world, we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Third mystery prayer: earth.

Praise be to you, my Lord, for our sister mother earth, who sustains and governs us and produces diverse fruits with colorful flowers and herbs. Sweetest Mother, we pray to you, be our advocate, so that God the Father and God the Son, may act in the heart of the person through the Holy Spirit, that the exploitation of the resources found in the earth may decrease, that we may give the true meaning to this element, which offers us the sustenance that gives us the necessary energy to survive, we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fourth mystery prayer: air.

Praised be you, my Lord, through brother wind, and through the air, and the cloudy, and the serene, and all weather, by which you give sustenance to your creatures. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, help your children, who implore the mercy of God the Father, to give conversion to those who tirelessly seek material and not spiritual resources, that all living beings may enjoy the air that purifies our body and spirit, we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Fifth mystery prayer: living beings.

Praised be you, my Lord, for those who forgive for your love and endure sickness and tribulation. Blessed are those who suffer them in peace, for through you, Most High, they shall be crowned. Holy Mother of God, we pray, intercede for each of the living beings that inhabit our planet, that we care for one another, that the voice of those who are unable to speak may be heard and that we may be faithful protectors of them, we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

O Mary, you shine always on our path as a sign of salvation and hope, to you we entrust ourselves who at the foot of the cross were associated with the pain of Jesus, keeping firm your faith.

You know what we need, we are sure that you will grant it so that, as in Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return to our common home.

Help us, Mother, to conform to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus will tell us, He who took our suffering upon Himself and bore our sorrows to lead us through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection.

In the present situation, full of sufferings and anguish that oppress the whole world, we turn to you, Mother of God and our Mother, and seek refuge under your protection.

O Virgin Mary, turn your merciful eyes upon us so that we may know how to take care of our common home and console those who are affected by evil deeds towards nature. Sustain those who are distressed, instill confidence in those who seek to preserve at all times the ecosystem in which we live.

Mother of God and our Mother, implore the Father of mercy to protect all living beings so that they may develop a dignified life and find a horizon of hope and peace. Intercede before your Divine Son, asking Him for each one of the families that yearn with sincere heart for a healthy harmony between the environment and the human being.

Protect all those who ceaselessly seek the correct use of the elements, indispensable for life, intercede for them so that they may receive a spirit of Strength and Understanding, that the Fruits of the Holy Spirit may spring forth from the depths of their hearts.

Assist the leaders of nations to act with wisdom, diligence and generosity, assisting those who lack the necessities of life, planning far-reaching social and economic solutions and in a spirit of solidarity with our common home.

Holy Mary, touch the consciences of those people who seek to obtain greater benefits for themselves, regardless of the damage they cause to the ecosystem and living beings, that humility may be reborn in their hearts to achieve a benefit for all, that their spirit may turn to God the Father/Mother, through the action of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Most loving Mother, increase in the world the sense of belonging to a single and great family, becoming aware of the bond that unites us all, so that with a fraternal/sororal and supportive spirit we may go out to help the many needs that arise in our world due to the selfishness and pride of a few.

O Mary, consolation of the afflicted, embrace all your sons and daughters, may God free from selfishness and pride those who are at the top of governments, so that they may know how to discern in a proper way, the direction they should take to improve our planet.

We entrust ourselves to you, who shine on our path as a sign of salvation and hope. O most merciful, O most gracious, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

All: Under your protection we take refuge Holy Mother of God, do not despise the supplications that we make to you in our needs, but deliver us from all danger, O Glorious and Blessed Virgin! Pray for us, Holy Mother of God, that we may be worthy to obtain the divine graces and promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Guide: O God whose only-begotten Son by his life, death and resurrection obtained for us the reward of eternal life, grant that we who meditate on the mysteries of this Holy Rosary may imitate what they contain and attain what they promise, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
