My Experience in the Philippines

This is my eighth month living in the formation house here in the Philippines as a postulant of the Dominican Missionary Sisters of the Rosary, Queen of China Province. First of all, thank you to the sisters who have provided and facilitated this opportunity to be in this community. We are very happy; we have had many experiences that have enriched our understanding of religious life.

Joining the modular classes is truly a blessing for us. We have the opportunity to meet with other young women in formation and make friends from other congregations. All the topics shared in these classes are very helpful for each of us, as they truly help broaden our perspective on religious life. They deepen our appreciation for the diverse ways faith can be expressed and lived. During these periods, we have a regular study time, as well as some classroom activities, group sharing, etc.

In addition, I had the opportunity to participate in the junior sisters’ presentation in the rural area. Sharing the little time and the smiles with the elderly there somehow inspired me to look forward with hope, to share more of my time with them. I am grateful to God for giving me all these opportunities. May God bless each of us in the mission to which we have been sent and through which God has entrusted us.
