Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Guadalupe de Ayquina School

This year, the Colegio de Calama is celebrating 70 years of educating generations of young people, consolidating its position as a fundamental institution in the educational, social, and cultural development of the city of Calama. Founded in 1955, the school has witnessed and participated in the changes and advancements of the region, always adapting to the needs of its students and the community.

Over these 70 years, the school has grown in infrastructure, with programs that respond to the needs of its students, and extracurricular activities continue to mark its history, consolidating itself as a space for comprehensive education for women in the north. The dedication of its management team, along with the various coordinators of the schools in the network, created an atmosphere in which, along with the passion of its students, has been key to keeping alive the tradition of educational excellence for women.

The celebrations for the 70th anniversary included a series of commemorative activities, including an official ceremony with the students, parents, and guests. Highlighting the workshops were the folkloric dance workshops for middle and elementary school students, the exhibitions of work from the pastoral workshops, the beautiful staging of the history of the different uniforms presented by the seniors, and the creation of a beautiful song by the Class of 2025. A Gala Dinner was held, honoring staff members who have been with us for many years. Soon, a Gala gathering of former students and teachers will be held, and they will surely enjoy the gathering and share their memories and anecdotes from a lifetime at the school.

This anniversary is also an opportunity to thank the entire educational community that has been part of this history, and at the same time, to look to the future with enthusiasm and commitment, seeking to continue educating responsible women committed to the reality of Calama and the world.

Happy 70th Anniversary, Guadalupe de Ayquina School of Calama!
