Ascensión Nicol School experienced a day filled with emotion and hope with the official inauguration of its new, innovative classrooms for 1st and 2nd grade, a project that reflects the institution’s commitment to a quality, creative, collaborative education focused on the well-being of its students.
The ceremony, presided over by Rector Daniel Lescot Jerez and Sister Eneida Galarce Araya, was attended by Father Andrés Lira, from the Santa Cruz Parish in Estación Central, who blessed the new spaces, along with community members of Missionary Dominican Sisters, the administrative team, teachers, students, and families.
During the ceremony, it was emphasized that this renovation not only improves the infrastructure but also expresses the purpose of the Institutional Educational Project to provide a comprehensive, evangelizing, and transformative education. The new classrooms were designed to promote active learning, creativity, and collaboration responding to the pedagogical challenges of the 21st century.
The ceremony included a poem performed by first-cycle students, a cueca dance presentation honoring the flag, and remarks by teacher Patricia, representing the teaching staff. Finally, the traditional ribbon-cutting took place, symbolizing the beginning of a new educational stage.
In addition, Father Andrés Lira blessed the four classrooms, accompanied by their respective homeroom teachers and students representing their classmates, thus sealing a moment of faith, joy, and community. With the motto “It is not enough to do good, it is necessary to do it well,” this inauguration marked a milestone in the commitment of Colegio Ascensión Nicol to the future of its students.
