MISSION, HISTORY, AND COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION

This article presents the trajectory of the “Private Public Primary School 1702 – Ramón Zubieta” as a form of testimony. The school was founded in 2021 and opened in 2022, with only three classrooms from 1st to 3rd grade, with a total of 75 students. Since then, it has gradually expanded, following the growth of the community and the demand for basic education, as well as the support of religious sisters in the Casa Verde neighborhood and its surroundings. It is located in the municipality of Lubango, Huíla province.

It is an institution belonging to the Dominican Missionary Sisters of the Rosary, whose teaching goes beyond the simple transmission of knowledge: it aims to offer a holistic education, combining academic excellence and religious instruction. Under the direction of Sister Teresa de Fátima Francisco and with the support of a dedicated team of educators and administrators, the school has distinguished itself through its mission, institutional transparency, and commitment to the future of its students. The commitment of this team allowed the school to achieve significant legal and institutional milestones in a short time.

Mission, Values, and Educational Philosophy

The school bases its mission on the following pillars:

  1. “Quality Education,” to provide solid teaching and appropriate methodologies for the cognitive and moral development of boys and girls.

  1. “Holistic Development,” in addition to academic disciplines, to promote Christian values, citizenship, respect, solidarity, and spirituality.

  1. “Safe and Welcoming Environment,” ensuring a structured space with administrative, pedagogical, and social support, where each student feels valued.

  1. “Commitment to the Community,” acting as a transformative agent in the local community, offering support, guidance, and social participation.

This philosophy reflects the conviction that true education shapes not only minds but also hearts.

Like any growing institution, the school faces challenges, some overcome, others still being addressed; However, with the dedication of the team and the support of the community, the school dreams of a promising future: expanding its reach, consolidating its level of excellence, and contributing to the formation of well-rounded and engaged citizens.

The trajectory of the Ramón Zubieta Private Public Primary School 1702 – still young, but full of significance – demonstrates that education can be built with faith, commitment, and seriousness. Under the guidance of solid values, with a dedicated team, and with formal accreditation assured, our school is becoming a true alternative for the education of new generations in Lubango and its surrounding areas.

As a teacher and witness to this process, I am honored to record this story. I firmly believe that, with perseverance and solidarity, the school will continue to fulfill its mission: to educate boys and girls prepared not only for academic challenges, but also for life, citizenship, and faith.

Lubango, Professor Jorge Nachicole Jangalai
