Event of June

On June 2, 2026, the Congregation of the Missionary Dominican Sisters of the Rosary officially inaugurated the MDR Formators’ Course 2026. The event began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Filemon I. Dela Cruz, Jr., O.P., Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, and was attended by the MDR communities and formation houses in Manila. The celebration was enriched by the diversity of national costumes representing the different countries of the sisters. These cultural expressions reflected the unity, diversity, and the spirit of interculturality that characterizes the MDR family.

The spiritual reflections shared by Rev. Fr. Filemon I. Dela Cruz, Jr., O.P. in his homily, beautifully connected the Gospel passage with our choice of the Church of Santissimo Rosario Parish. Reflecting on the words, “Give to God what belongs to God,” he emphasized that every person bears the image of God and therefore belongs to Him. He highlighted the dignity of each individual and the importance of recognizing our belongingness to God. He also spoke about the mission of formators in accompanying those in formation. He stressed that formators are not called to shape formandees according to their own image or personal ideals, but rather to help them grow in the image of Christ.

Furthermore, he reflected on the name of the chapel in relation to the Charism of our Congregation. He highlighted the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a model formator who continually leads all Christians to Christ. In the same way, formators are called to guide and accompany formandees on their journey toward a deeper relationship with Christ.

At the conclusion of the celebration, the sisters proceeded to Santa Rosa de Lima Ladies’ Residence to share a fraternal meal. We give thanks and praise to God for the opportunity to gather as one family and to strengthen the bonds of sisterly love. We also entrust the MDR Formators’ Course 2026 to the loving guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our founders, Fray Ramón Zubieta and Mother Ascensión Nicol Goñi, praying that this course may bear abundant fruits and achieve its objectives successfully.
