A New Transition in My Life’s Journey

On August 5, 2025, at 10:30 p.m., a young girl packed her suitcase and followed the voice calling from her heart. She had not fully understood what this decision would mean, but she already knew she would take the risk. Still, she was brave enough to go. She arrived in a new country ready to face a new culture, learn a new language, and meet new people. That was me—Monica.

For the first time, I arrived in the Philippines. Everything felt unfamiliar, and it was difficult for me to easily fit in with others. I was afraid, and I worried about many things. But after ten months in the Formation House—guided by God and supported by my sisters—I was able to move forward. During these months, I experienced many things: I learned about the cultures of different countries, and most of all, I learned what it means to live with sisters who come from different places.

At the beginning, I knew it would not be easy. Later on, I realized that this was truly the best place for me—because God had been preparing the way for me to follow His voice.

Before I entered the next stage of formation, I was given three days of retreat. Those days became a precious time for me to look back at myself and to rest in God’s hands. I spent time with Him, and I felt my heart grow calmer and more hopeful. The retreat was an enriching experience—one in which I encountered many blessings. I felt that God surrounded me with wonderful people who helped me along my journey. I saw His presence through those who are poor and living on the streets, through special children, and through marginalized people. Their simple smiles reminded me to appreciate the life I have now. There were also times when I complained without realizing that the lives of people outside are more difficult than mine. Sometimes problems still arise, but that does not make me stop. Instead, it helps me grow.

Once again, I am grateful to God for calling me to follow Him. I know there will be many challenges ahead of me, but with God in my life, nothing will destroy me. I will continue to do my best to stay faithful to His call.
